Weekend Recap: 4th of July!

Did anyone else struggle to get up and get going this morning?  I did NOT want to get out of bed!  Anyway, I hope you all had a great 4th of July weekend.  I didn't take many pictures of our weekend because I was too busy enjoying the time with family and friends.

FRIDAY:  Thursday night Kevin and I headed north to our parents'.  I went for a run Friday morning and then we got ready and headed to my family's party at my parents house.  We had burgers, hot dogs, brats, too many side dishes to name.  We had fun hanging out with my family and enjoying the gorgeous weather.  My mom had everything decorated super cute, include fresh red, white, and blue flowers in mason jar vases.

Friday night we had "steak night" at Kevin's mom's.  Kevin's brother grilled steak and shrimp, and again, we had tons of yummy side dishes.  We stuffed ourselves full, and then ended the night by playing Heads Up on my phone.  (It's a really fun game you can download for $0.99, trust me, you'll have hours of fun!)

SATURDAY:  My mom and I headed to the beach on Saturday, but we left after a couple of hours because it was cloudy, windy, and was actually kind of cold.  We hung out at my parent's for a little before I went and picked Kevin up, and we all went to a birthday party/cookout at a family friend's house.  We enjoyed more delicious food, great weather (it actually warmed up that night), and good company.

SUNDAY:  We hung out at Kevin's mom's for a while before heading back home.  Of course we hit major traffic, but luckily it was only bad for part of our drive.

How was your holiday weekend?

Weekend Recap

  1. You are not alone! I layer in bed just dreading getting up! Looks and sounds like a good holiday weekend!

  2. I definitely hit the snooze more times than I normally do today.. I was not ready for reality! Just reading about your feast on Friday makes me hungry ;)

  3. Haha yess I love that you mentioned the tons of side dishes... sometimes I feel like they're actually better than the main course!! I love your patriotic outfits :)

  4. Love the pic with the pup!

It was absolutely hard to get up especially since I didn't get much shut eye since my dog was awake for most of the night, grrr! He kept waking me up licking himself.

Those flowers look very pretty and I love using mason jars for anything and everything :)

    Thanks for linkin' up!

  5. I did not want to get out of bed either, ugh!

I'll have to download Heads Up! I've heard great things about it.

  6. i hate a windy beach day! this happens to us at least once a year. But outside of the traffic, looks like a pretty fantastic weekend!

  7. Sounds like a fun weekend full of lots of yummy food! I totally agree about not waiting to get up in the morning after the long holiday weekend! ;)

  8. I need to check out Heads Up - thanks for the recommendation!!
