Do you ever have one of those days where you have zero motivation to do anything? Yesterday was one of those days for me. I worked an hour later than normal, which throws me off to begin with. After two days of beautiful weather, yesterday was cold, dark, and windy. I got home from work, made dinner, and then plopped on the couch for the rest of the night. I had zero motivation to do anything. There were dishes to take care of, laundry to put away, and a workout to be done. But I didn't do any of it.

I don't like days where I'm unmotivated. I feel like I wasted my day. I blamed it on the weather, but I know that I only have myself to blame for my lack of motivation. I joined the #1800MinuteChallenge which started yesterday and I did nothing towards it. That lack of motivation ends today. I always feel so much better after I work out, so I'm committing to doing it every day. Whether it's a walk with my husband and dog, a workout with my Jillian Michaels DVD, or a run (I do have a 5k in May I need to train for), I'm going to do something everyday.

Also, this month's Intentional Life Project topic is Time Management. I'll have a full post dedicated to this next week, but what I'm going to do is get up 20-30 minute earlier than normal every morning. I'm much more motivated in the morning than when I get home from work, so I'm hoping to get a couple things done in the mornings before work. Whether it's emptying or reloading the dishwasher, taking care of laundry, writing a blog post, etc. I think that extra time will make me feel better when I get home and don't have things waiting for me to get done.

I can totally relate to this feeling, and sometimes I just need a "mental health day"... other times, though, I need a kick in the pants! haha! Thank you for the motivational quotes- love them all. I try to remind myself of how awesome I feel after a workout or after a project is complete... sometimes that helps me get it into gear again.

It's amazing that you can workout AFTER dinner. Also, kudos that you are stepping back and resetting ... So easy to get in a rut, ya know?
ReplyDeleteOh, I can 100% relate to this. I totally understand feeling like you've wasted a day - it's good to find different motivators. For me it's sometimes a list that works, but more often than not, the biggest motivator is just getting started with 1 thing. Once I've started, I feel motivated to accomplish the rest, whether it's working out, working on the house, etc.
ReplyDeleteHi Erika!! I was so excited to read this post after finding your blog from the Collective Social Blog Hop. This post speaks volumes to me right now and is the motivation that I need to keep going on my health and fitness goals. Thanks again!

Those quotes are GREAT motivation. And looking up those sort of quotes on Pinterest is one of the biggest motivators I have; that and remembering that I have to be in a bikini REALLY soon.
