Weekend Recap

I hope your weekend was filled with as much fun and sunshine as mine! It started off with a work golf outing on Friday that ended up being a blast. I was a little nervous, since I hadn't golfed in 2-3 years (and I was never good in the first place), but I had a great group and we had so much fun.

I ended up winning closest to the pin!

Saturday was spent at Moosefest, which is a free country concert put on by the local radio station, 107MUS the Moose (hence the name). This year's line up was:

Bari Lee
Michael Tyer
Walker McGuire
Russell Dickerson
Jordan Davis
Adam Craig
Emerson Drive

The weather was perfect and all of the artists were great.

The next two pics are from the radio station's Facebook page...Kevin saw them and texted to me while I was at the concert. I thought there was some creeper taking pics of me and sending them to him! hahaha. He said he was scrolling Facebook and saw them and realized it was me, so she sent them to me. It was pretty funny. We were obviously have a good time :)

Another great Moosefest on the lakeshore of Muskegon. Quite the difference from last year when it rained and stormed all day. Thanks to 107MUS for putting on a great concert for us!

My Sunday was spent catching up laundry, cleaning the house, and getting ready for the week ahead. My week is going to be full of running and softball, so I enjoyed a lazy day at home on Sunday. Hope you have a great week!

Weekend Recap: Hello Spring!

After some snow on Thursday, I think Spring might have finally arrived in Michigan. The sun was out and the temps were up. And I loved it. My weekend started on Thursday night, when a couple of friends and I went to a Dan + Shay concert. It was a blast. I'd definitely go see them again.

Jackie Lee was the warm up artist...he was great too!

I took Friday off work, so I was able to sleep in a little and get some things done around the house before Kevin and I headed off to game night with some friends. It was a fun, low-key Friday night. I went for a run Saturday morning (only two more weeks until my half marathon) and then we had a pre-season get together with one of our softball teams. We spent Saturday night catching up on some shows on the DVR and just relaxing at home (it was pretty perfect).

Sunday was beautiful! 70 degrees and sunshine. I loved every second of it. I spent some time grocery shopping, doing laundry, and cleaning inside in the morning, before heading outside to clean up the yard a little and play in my flowers. I also spent some time reading on the deck and soaking up the sun.

It was such a great, low key weekend. I'm so happy that Spring has finally decided to show up in Michigan!

Birthday Bash 2016

This past weekend was Birthday Bash weekend! Anyone who lives in West Michigan and likes country music probably knows what Birthday Bash is, but for everyone else, here's a little explanation: it's a free, two-day, country music concert that is put on by the country radio station (B93) in Grand Rapids each year. The tickets are free, but you pay for parking and all of your food and drink inside the concert. This year was my 8th year going to Birthday Bash and I think it may have been the hottest weekend yet! Temps hit 90 degrees both days and total sunshine.

My mom, aunt, sister, sister's boyfriend, and his friend came this year and we had a great time. I actually didn't take a ton of photos because I didn't have my phone out much. I was just enjoying the weekend and tried not to look at my phone much. But I do have a few to share!

Saturday's Lineup: Brandy Clark, Lanco, Granger Smith/Earl Dibbles Jr, Brothers Osborne, Chris Janson, an d Chris Young

Sunday's Lineup: Gunnar and the Grizzly Boys, Kelsea Ballerini, Cam, Old Dominion, Frankie Ballard, and Cole Swindell

You can check out my recap of past year's bashes here: 2015, 2014, 2013.

My favorite of the weekend was Chris Young, but there were so many great artists! It was hot, sweaty, and we came home with sun burn, but can't wait to do it all again next year!

Thanks again to B93 for the great concert and to all of the volunteers and staff who made the weekend so much fun for everyone!

Weekend Recap: MooseFest & Family

You know you had a great weekend when it's over in the blink of an eye.  This past week was another good one!  I got up early and headed to my parents' to meet up with my mom and my aunt.  We headed to MooseFest, which is a free country concert that a local radio station puts on every year.  They had a great lineup this year which included: Ten-Cent Heroes, Kari Lynch, Logan Mize, Mickey Guyton, Josh Dorr, Brothers Osborne, Michael Ray, and Thompson Square.  It was hot and sunny, as it always is, but we had a great time!

Our traditional breakfast of pretzels and beer!

Thompson Square
Funny story...this couple won a "free" wedding from the radio station, so we all got to see them get married before the concert started haha.

On Sunday we had a cook-out at my parents' because some of my family were in town from Texas/Louisiana.  We had a great time eating, catching up, and playing yard games.  And then all of a sudden it was Monday!  But that's how it always goes...the best weekends never last long enough.

Birthday Bash 2015!

This past weekend was Birthday Bash 2015!  Birthday Bash is a yearly concert put on by the local radio station B93.7.  The tickets are free (you just have to pick them up from a ticket drop event).  You pay $60 for a two-day parking pass and then you have to buy your food and drinks while you are in the concert.  This year was my 7th year going to bash and once again we had a blast!  Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate, and we got soaked at the end of Saturday, and they had to cancel Sunday's concert due to storms and the conditions of the venue, but we can't control mother nature!

On Saturday we got to see a great lineup that included: Jackie Lee, Granger Smith/Earl Dibbles Jr., Maddie and Tae, Kip Moore, and Jake Owen.  Here's what our day looked like in photos:

Tradition: Start the morning with a Rumchata/Fireball shot!

Our group waiting in line!

My grandma bought us all these matching shirts to wear :)

This is what part of the parking lot looked like after a 30 minute down pour...and then it rained all night, which is why Sunday was canceled--the place was basically flooded!

After the 30 minute down pour on Saturday, the concert venue turned in to a mud pit!
