Weekend Recap

I hope your weekend was filled with as much fun and sunshine as mine! It started off with a work golf outing on Friday that ended up being a blast. I was a little nervous, since I hadn't golfed in 2-3 years (and I was never good in the first place), but I had a great group and we had so much fun.

I ended up winning closest to the pin!

Saturday was spent at Moosefest, which is a free country concert put on by the local radio station, 107MUS the Moose (hence the name). This year's line up was:

Bari Lee
Michael Tyer
Walker McGuire
Russell Dickerson
Jordan Davis
Adam Craig
Emerson Drive

The weather was perfect and all of the artists were great.

The next two pics are from the radio station's Facebook page...Kevin saw them and texted to me while I was at the concert. I thought there was some creeper taking pics of me and sending them to him! hahaha. He said he was scrolling Facebook and saw them and realized it was me, so she sent them to me. It was pretty funny. We were obviously have a good time :)

Another great Moosefest on the lakeshore of Muskegon. Quite the difference from last year when it rained and stormed all day. Thanks to 107MUS for putting on a great concert for us!

My Sunday was spent catching up laundry, cleaning the house, and getting ready for the week ahead. My week is going to be full of running and softball, so I enjoyed a lazy day at home on Sunday. Hope you have a great week!

Weekend Recap: Hello Spring!

After some snow on Thursday, I think Spring might have finally arrived in Michigan. The sun was out and the temps were up. And I loved it. My weekend started on Thursday night, when a couple of friends and I went to a Dan + Shay concert. It was a blast. I'd definitely go see them again.

Jackie Lee was the warm up artist...he was great too!

I took Friday off work, so I was able to sleep in a little and get some things done around the house before Kevin and I headed off to game night with some friends. It was a fun, low-key Friday night. I went for a run Saturday morning (only two more weeks until my half marathon) and then we had a pre-season get together with one of our softball teams. We spent Saturday night catching up on some shows on the DVR and just relaxing at home (it was pretty perfect).

Sunday was beautiful! 70 degrees and sunshine. I loved every second of it. I spent some time grocery shopping, doing laundry, and cleaning inside in the morning, before heading outside to clean up the yard a little and play in my flowers. I also spent some time reading on the deck and soaking up the sun.

It was such a great, low key weekend. I'm so happy that Spring has finally decided to show up in Michigan!

Weekend Recap

Before I start my weekend recap, I have to stop and take a minute to thank all of our service men and women who have served and are serving our country.  I thank you all for everything you do to keep our country safe and free.

Friday night I went to a jewelry party my mom was hosting.  It was good to catch up with my mom and some family friends, and I ordered some pretty new jewels that I can't wait to get!

Saturday morning I helped Kevin pick up some leaves and then we got ready for the birthday party we were going to that afternoon.  We left early for the party and went to look for a new bed.  We only got ours a few years ago, but it was on the cheap end, and the box spring has become VERY squeaky over the past few months.  It's to the point where if you move your arm, it squeaks.  We decided enough was enough, so we went out looking and found a great bed at a super price and I can't wait for it arrive this week!  We are going to put the old bed in the guest bedroom and see what we can do about fixing the squeaking (I've seen some ideas online) eventually.

I went grocery shopping on Sunday morning to load up on healthy foods for my new healthy eating I'm starting today.  I did some cleaning up around the house, got a few loads of laundry done, and watched football.  The Lions won and are now in first place in their division!  However, my fantasy team is not doing so good this week...bummer.

Thank goodness my grocery store has a Starbucks in it!
Full grocery cart...don't worry, the Doritos are for Kevin :)

Hope you had a great weekend...here's to hoping this week goes by quickly!

Better Late Than Never

This weekend recap is coming a little later than usual, but I have a good excuse, I swear.  I was super busy this weekend and all of last week with my regular work and some volunteer work.  I worked my normal M-F 9-5 work week, but I was also putting in 3-4 every night doing some work for an event I volunteer for.

I had to be to work at 7:45 a.m. on Saturday and got home around Noon.  Then I had to leave at 3:30 p.m. to head to the volunteer event.  I ended up getting home around 12:30 a.m. and I was exhausted.  Sunday was spent at a baby shower for a friend and then trying to do a little catch up on stuff around my house that had been neglected for the past week.

I'm hoping to get back to regularly scheduled posts this week, but I do have a lot to catch up on around my house too...leaves to pick up, laundry, dishes, vacuuming, organizing, the list goes on and on....

Hope you had a great weekend!

I Survived...

I survived my first 5k on Saturday!  I realize this is not a big deal to some people, but it was to me.  I'm not a runner by any means, and I've never done any type of race.  It was cold (45 degrees) and rainy when I got up on Saturday morning and I was worried about what the race would be like in that weather.  The race started at 9:00 a.m. and by about 8:15 a.m. the rain stopped!  It was still cold and windy, but it actually wasn't bad once we started running.

I only walked for about 20 seconds during the race, so I was really proud of myself for that!  My finish time was 33:36 and I finished 29th out of 49 women in my age group.  I really enjoyed running the race and I'm pretty sure I'll be signing up for another one in the spring!  Thank you all of your sweet words on here and Twitter over the weekend, it meant a lot :)

After the race on Saturday my friend Kristen came over and we went shopping and then hung out my house drinking wine and catching up.  I also used my new vacuum for the first time and I LOVED it!  I only used it real quick, but I'm hoping to try out all of the features soon so I can find out all that it can do.

On Sunday Kevin, myself, and Admiral got ready and we went and had some fall pictures taken.  The girl that did our wedding photos took these and I can't wait to see how they turned out!  I'll be sure to share them once I get them back.

Happy Monday!

Weekend Recap: Football Game!

I was in Tennessee last week visiting my sister (recap coming soon) and got back Saturday night.  Sunday Kevin and I got up early and headed to Detroit for the Lions football game!  We had a great time, even though the Lions lost.  It was a good game and came down to a last second kick by Cincinnati for them to win the game.  I still don't think I'm caught up on sleep from my Tennessee trip, so I'll let the pictures from the football game do the talking.

After the game, we hung out in our parking ramp to wait for traffic to clear out, and we watched the players come out to their buses and greet fans.

Andy Dalton (red head on the phone), quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals.

Hope you had a great weekend!  After having four days off work last week, it's going to a tough Monday back for me.

Wedding Weekend

Happy Monday!  Today is my only day of work this week because I'm leaving tomorrow morning to go visit my sister in Tennessee, so I'm hoping the day flies by!

This weekend was a great one.  On Friday night, Kevin and I cleaned up all the leaves in our back and front yard.  And of course, by Sunday it was full of leaves again, but it looked better for a little while anyway.

Saturday was my friend Melissa's wedding.  We've been friends since we were little, so I was excited to celebrate her big day with her.  We headed to Muskegon for the wedding in the afternoon, and then had time to stop home for a little bit before the reception.  I was able to catch up with some of my friends from high school and we had a great time!

Sunday was spent watching football, grocery shopping, and doing laundry.
Hope you had a great weekend!

Another Good Weekend...and a Cold

Our weekend wasn't too exciting, but it was good.  On Friday night Kevin and I caught up on our shows on the DVR.  Since most of our fall shows started last week, we had lots to catch up on!

On Saturday I took my cousin to her soccer game and watched her play.  Her team didn't win, but they did good!  And it was a beautiful day to sit out at a soccer game.  Temps near 80 degrees and sunny.

After the soccer game, Kevin and I helped our friends move in to the house they just bought.  We were super tired by the time we got home, so we just sat around for the rest of the night.  I snacked on chips and salsa and had a couple beers while we watched football.  It was great.

Kevin and I both woke up a little sore on Sunday and I woke up with a cold.  I was so mad because I had a lot I wanted to get done, but didn't feel like doing anything.  I did a few loads of laundry and mowed the lawn, so at least I felt a little accomplished.

I'm hoping this cold goes away quickly and doesn't get any worse this week.  We have a fun weekend planned this weekend and I don't want to feel sick for any of it!

Did you do anything fun this weekend?
