Wedding Wednesday: Wedding Day!!

If you want to catch up on all of my wedding posts, go here.

Warning:  Be ready for picture overload :)

On Saturday, June 29, I woke up after not getting much sleep.  I tossed and turned and was so excited for the next day that I just couldn't sleep.  We arrived at Trendz Hair Salon at 8 a.m. to start getting our hair done.  All five of my bridesmaids, my mom, and myself got our hair done at Trendz that morning.  Our hair appointments were done sooner than I anticipated, so we didn't haven't to rush to the church, which was nice.

After we were all done with our hair, we headed to the church where our makeup artist was going to meet us.  My mom made chicken salad and ground bologna (my favorite!), and cheese and crackers so we were able to eat a nice, light lunch at the church before the wedding (the wedding was at 3:30 p.m.).  One by one, we all got our makeup done and then started getting in to our dresses and ready for pictures.

The necklace that I wore was my grandma's.  It was given to her by my grandpa, who passed away before I was born.  It was very special to me to be able to wear that necklace.  I believe my mom also wore the necklace in her wedding, and other women in my family have worn it for their weddings too.

I wore Lindsey's (bridesmaid) veil in my wedding...I didn't love the one I had purchased and hers went perfectly with my dress.  Thank you Lindsey for letting me wear your veil on my wedding day!

Before the wedding ceremony, we had my girls do pictures with Kevin, I did pictures with his guys, and then we did some of Kevin and his guys and me and my girls...just to get a few photos out of the way before the wedding.  It was raining a little before the wedding, so we had to say under the covered part of the church for most of the outdoor photos....but luckily the rain ended by the time the wedding was over :)

Our flowers were done by my friend Kaleena and she did an AMAZING job with them (as you can tell by the pictures)!  They were exactly what I wanted and turned out more beautiful than I even imagined!

The morning/afternoon was actually really relaxing for me.  We never had to rush for anything, because I allowed plenty of time for hair, makeup, getting dressed, and photos before the wedding.  I was so happy that I did that, so I wasn't stressed about being late for anything.

Just relaxing with my phone waiting for the wedding to start :)
Before I knew it, it was time to walk down the aisle!  Check back next week for a recap of our wedding ceremony and even more pictures!

**Photos with the date on them were taken by my mom.  All others were taken by our photographer: McKensie anne Photography.  She did an amazing job photographing our wedding day!  If you're looking for a photographer in west Michigan, definitely check her out!**

  8. I couldn't sleep the night before our wedding. I remember being wide awake around 3 am or so, and getting out of bed to take advil. But miraculous, even without sleep, I was was more than awake the entire day.

And I love your purple shoes! They're gorgeous. I really thought about going with purple shoes but went with blue instead. Although seeing your shoes makes me rethink that decision.
