Wedding Wednesday: Wedding Day!!

If you want to catch up on all of my wedding posts, go here.

Warning:  Be ready for picture overload :)

On Saturday, June 29, I woke up after not getting much sleep.  I tossed and turned and was so excited for the next day that I just couldn't sleep.  We arrived at Trendz Hair Salon at 8 a.m. to start getting our hair done.  All five of my bridesmaids, my mom, and myself got our hair done at Trendz that morning.  Our hair appointments were done sooner than I anticipated, so we didn't haven't to rush to the church, which was nice.

After we were all done with our hair, we headed to the church where our makeup artist was going to meet us.  My mom made chicken salad and ground bologna (my favorite!), and cheese and crackers so we were able to eat a nice, light lunch at the church before the wedding (the wedding was at 3:30 p.m.).  One by one, we all got our makeup done and then started getting in to our dresses and ready for pictures.

The necklace that I wore was my grandma's.  It was given to her by my grandpa, who passed away before I was born.  It was very special to me to be able to wear that necklace.  I believe my mom also wore the necklace in her wedding, and other women in my family have worn it for their weddings too.

I wore Lindsey's (bridesmaid) veil in my wedding...I didn't love the one I had purchased and hers went perfectly with my dress.  Thank you Lindsey for letting me wear your veil on my wedding day!

Before the wedding ceremony, we had my girls do pictures with Kevin, I did pictures with his guys, and then we did some of Kevin and his guys and me and my girls...just to get a few photos out of the way before the wedding.  It was raining a little before the wedding, so we had to say under the covered part of the church for most of the outdoor photos....but luckily the rain ended by the time the wedding was over :)

Our flowers were done by my friend Kaleena and she did an AMAZING job with them (as you can tell by the pictures)!  They were exactly what I wanted and turned out more beautiful than I even imagined!

The morning/afternoon was actually really relaxing for me.  We never had to rush for anything, because I allowed plenty of time for hair, makeup, getting dressed, and photos before the wedding.  I was so happy that I did that, so I wasn't stressed about being late for anything.

Just relaxing with my phone waiting for the wedding to start :)
Before I knew it, it was time to walk down the aisle!  Check back next week for a recap of our wedding ceremony and even more pictures!

**Photos with the date on them were taken by my mom.  All others were taken by our photographer: McKensie anne Photography.  She did an amazing job photographing our wedding day!  If you're looking for a photographer in west Michigan, definitely check her out!**

Legends of the Summer

Last week I went to the Legends of the Summer concert in Detroit.  The Legends of the Summer tour is Justin Timberlake and Jay Z.  I have been a huge Justin Timberlake fan since I was probably 14 and was obsessed with *NSYNC.  I was so excited for this concert, and let me tell you, they did not disappoint!

I went with my friend Kaleena and we had a blast!  We arrived in Detroit around 7:00 p.m. (concert started at 8:00 p.m.) and hung out in the parking garage for a little bit watching all the people enter Ford Field.

We went in and found our seats and were in awe of the stage set up...so cool!

My only complaint of the concert is that it was supposed to start at 8:00 p.m. and they didn't start until just after 9:00 p.m....they had a DJ playing songs for that hour, but we were ready!

Once the concert started we were up dancing the entire time!  I loved how the transitions between songs/artists was so seamless.  They came out together, but then it would just be one on stage and then the other...no transition time in between, just non stop music!  You can check out the set list here...I think it's pretty accurate.  They played soooo many songs...the concert was almost 2.5 hours long!

If you have a chance to go to this tour, I would definitely recommend it!  I'd go again in a heartbeat if I could :)

Have you been to any good concerts this summer?  If so, which was your favorite?

Weekend Recap: Softball & Target

Our weather in Michigan was beautiful this weekend!  I hope yours was too.  This weekend, Kevin and I played in a softball tournament.  We had to leave early Saturday morning, so Friday night was spent at home with pizza and TV.

We left early Saturday morning to head up to the softball tournament.  We ended up losing our first two games, which meant we were out of the tournament.  We were bummed to have lost, but we had a lot of fun playing and it was a beautiful day to be outside playing softball!  When we got home from softball, I ran to Target to get a few groceries and to pick up this rug I wanted for our living room (which just happened to be on sale).

I LOVE this rug in our living room.  Things are slowly starting to come together in that room and in the rest of our house.  On Sunday I did laundry and did some organizing around our house.  I should have taken some before and after photos, but I didn't...I organized our "junk drawer" in our kitchen, a little bit in our pantry, and my belts and scarves in our bedroom.

It was a good weekend with great weather and I'm looking forward to another fun weekend this weekend...it's MooseFest time!  If you don't know what MooseFest is, check out my Birthday Bash posts here and here, and imagine that on a much smaller scale :)

Happy Monday!

New Hair Cut

I finally got my hair cut yesterday!  Thanks for all of your sweet comments on Instagram and Twitter,  I really appreciate it.  I got about 11-12 inches cut off and I had my salon donate it for me.

It feels weird having my hair this short, but I really like it.  Now I just have to practice styling it :)

I also picked up my wedding pictures yesterday and I can't wait to share them with you--I love them all!!!

Enjoy the rest of your week...it's almost Friday!!

Exciting Things Happening This Week!

This is going to be an exciting week for me.  Tonight I am going to the Legends of the Summer (Justin Timberlake and Jay Z) tour with my friend Kaleena.  I am beyond excited for this concert!!!  Believe me, there will be a full re-cap at some point :)

On Wednesday I'm finally getting my hair cut!  You can read about it and see my inspiration photos here.  I am excited for a change with my hair, but also a little nervous because I'm about to cut off a lot of hair!

The other exciting thing is that I'm picking up my wedding photos this week!  Which means I'll be sharing them with you soon.  I can't wait to see them!!

Hope you have a great week--I know I will!

IKEA, Baseball, & Shark Week!

I hope you had as much fun as I did this weekend!  Friday night we didn't do much.  On Saturday we dropped Admiral off at Kevin's mom's for the weekend and then we came home and put our basketball hoop together before going out to dinner.

We got up really early Sunday morning to head to Detroit for the Tigers game!  But of course we had to make a stop at IKEA on the way :)

We picked up a new rug for our living room and some little things for the house.  Then we headed to Detroit to watch the baseball game.  It was a great day for baseball...about 75 degrees and mostly sunny.  And to make it even better, the Tigers won in 12 innings on a walk-off RBI hit by Torii Hunter!  So much fun!

When we got home Sunday night I realized that the first pre-season NFL football game was on, which made me happy (football is my favorite sport) and Shark Week started last night!  So, in honor of Shark Week, I'm going to leave you with a couple pictures of our little shark:

Happy Monday!  I've got some exciting things going on this week...more about that tomorrow!
