Weekend Recap: 4th of July in Detroit

Kevin and I spent 4th of July weekend in Detroit for the Tigers baseball games.  The mini-vacay was our anniversary present to each other.  We left Friday afternoon, checked in to our hotel, and then headed to the game.  We saw a great game that night--the Tigers pitcher (Sanchez) had a no-hitter going in to the 8th inning!  We stayed for the fireworks at the field that night and then headed back to the hotel.

Saturday morning we ate breakfast at the hotel and then headed to game.  We got free red, white, and blue Tigers hats at the game, and we saw another win!  After the game, we went back to the hotel to shower (we were hot, sweaty, and sticky from sunscreen) and then we ate dinner at our hotel before heading to the movies.  We saw Ted 2 and we both thought it was pretty funny.

Sunday morning we had breakfast at the hotel again, packed up our stuff, and headed to the game.  The game on Sunday didn't go as well as the previous two days (the Tigers lost), so we ended up leaving in the 6th inning so we could beat traffic and get home a little earlier.

It was a such a great weekend full of baseball, food, and sun!  We had a great time spending quality time together celebrating our two-year anniversary.  How did you spend your 4th of July weekend?

  1. Super fun! Glad y'all had a good time! Happy anniversary again!

  2. It looks like you had a fun weekend! Great seats too! We had a BBQ at our house so I spent a lot of time cooking!

  3. What an AWESOME weekend!! Mike and my goal is to go to every major league ballpark someday :)

  4. Looks like a great weekend!! Celebrating the 4th with baseball seems so appropriate ;)
