I Think I'm Starting to LIKE Running!

Today I'm linking up with Katie at Katie Did What for her new Healthy Habits link up.  Make sure you link up your posts and go check out and encourage everyone else who is linking up today!

Today I wanted to share something that I wasn't sure would ever happen...I think I'm actually starting to like and enjoy running!  I come home from work and I WANT to go for a run.  I don't feel like it is something that I have to do or something that I should, it's a want now.  I'm almost craving it!  I love being able to get outside in the warm sunshine finally...you know, after the seven months of winter we had here in Michigan.  We have a great park with a paved path through it very close to our house, so I've started running there and I'm loving it.

keep going!

I'm using the C25K app on my phone when I run and it's been great, I really like it.  I listen to Justin Timberlake radio on my iheart radio app while I'm running and that station has good songs for running.

I love going for walks with my husband and our dog, but there's something about running and working up a sweat that I'm just really liking lately!  I hope this feeling stays for a while :)

Agreed.

Do you like running?  Do you hate it?  What do you do to stay motivated?

  1. Hi! I'm going through the same thing, it's weird at the beginning to like running! And you realize, you need it! So I know what you're talking about!:)

  2. I like your quote - I don't look cute at any point in my work out! I don't like running. I trained for and completed one 1/2 marathon and loved the achievement of running 1:56, but I'll never do another block of training like that. Just short casual runs for me!

    1. I don't look cute either in my work outs either, which I'm totally ok with! I've only done two 5k races, and I want to do more and improve my time before I start upping the distance. Kudos to you for complete a half under 2 hours--that's awesome!

  7. This is awesome Ericka! :) I haven't started running yet, but I've been doing T25 for 8 weeks now (working out consistently for 10) and I've moved into that "craving" phase too! It's like I don't feel quite right if I don't get my workout in. You have no idea what a huge change that is for me! haha :) I'm excited to read more posts from you about your running journey.

    xo Always, Abby

  8. I have really gotten into running this spring as well. I always tell everyone "I try really hard to be a runner," but this year I feel like I am actually becoming one. I did a 5k training plan and now I'm working on a 10k training plan. I like having the plan there to tell me how far to go, and when I'm done, I get to feel that sense of accomplishment as I cross each run off my list. I'm actually planning to do a post on my new love for running very soon, haha. I use the Nike plus running app and really like it. I've never heard of the C25K app, but I might have to try it :)

  10. My hubby and I did a C25K last year, before I got pregnant, and I loved it!! Then I kind of stopped running and just rode my stationary bike and did toning workouts throughout pregnancy, but now I'm itching to get back into running!! You've inspired me :) Thanks girl! And that quote at the end? LOVE it.

    Thanks for linking up, too!
