4th of July Weekend

I hope you all had a great 4th of July weekend! Ours was pretty great...except for the fact that our dog is terrified of fireworks, so that part wasn't too fun.

Kevin and I went out to dinner on Friday night to celebrate our anniversary. We went to a little Italian place that we had heard good things about, but neither of us had ever been to it. It did not disappoint! We ate way too much food and came home and passed out...we're getting old!

On Saturday, my mom and I spent the day at my Grandma's helping her with her yard sale and cleaning out her garage. It was a long day, but we got a lot done for her, so it was definitely productive. Not 5 minutes after we got home, Admiral heard fireworks, so he headed to the bathroom and got in the tub to try and hide. It was so sad! For some reason, he calms down if we go in the basement, so that's where we spent the rest of the night.

Sunday was my family's 4th of July party, so we headed to my Aunt & Uncle's house where we again, ate too much good food. We came home Sunday night and Kevin went and played cards with his friends, while Admiral and I spent the night in the basement since there were a bunch of fireworks.

The 4th was spent catching up blog reading (me), catching up on Game of Thrones (Kevin), yard work, laundry, cleaning, grilling, and of course, trying to calm a dog who hates fireworks.

How was your weekend? Did you spend time with family and friends? Did you eat too much food like we did?

  1. Happy belated anniversary!! That dinner out sounds wonderful. I LOVE your clothespin wreath, too. Have a great week!

  2. I always feel so bad for dogs that are scared of the fireworks! My moms dog is the same way except there isn't anything that makes him feel better until their over! Sounds like a good and productive weekend! I definitely enjoyed lots of food as well! Haha. :)
